Aman : Hare krishna Prabhu, so my question was, we see many references that ISKCONites provide but no longer exist today in those literatures, why is it so? Does this mean gaudiyas fabricated some lies? Please do not be offended, i am asking in the general perception.
For example verses which i see y'all quoting from are
Bhagavat Purana. Adi Puran. Kurma Puran. Garuda Puran Narasimha Puran. Padma Purana. Narada Purana. Brahma Purana. Bhavisya Purana. Agni Purana. Matsya Purana. Vayu Purana. Markendaya Purana. Varaha Purana. Puranaamana Purana. Upa Purana. Ananta Samhita. Mahabharata. Atharva Veda. Sama Veda. Chaitanya Upanisad. Chandogya Upanishad. Svetasvara Upanishad. Purusa-Bodini Upanisad.
Out of these, many veres dont exist in those scriptures.
Although verses that are existing till now, no doubt clear everything and proves sri Gauranga to be none else than Krishna himself, but i just had this particular doubt.
Devotee: It is not unique that an Acharya gives references that are no longer available. There are many instances where Madhvacharya quotes from sources that are unheard of. For example, Upagita, Kamatha Sruti, Karmaviveka, Kalapa Sruti, Tantra-prakasika, Kapileya Samhita, Karanaviveka, Kausika Sruti, Gatisara, Adhara, AruniSruti, Upanaradiya, Ubhayanirukta, Indraduymna Sruti, Upasana Laksana, Jivatattva, Gunaparama, Gitasara, Gitakalpa, Guruviveka, Gautamakhila, Jyotis Samhita, Tattvasara, Tattvodyoga, Tantra Bhagavata, Tantra Mala, Triyoga, Nibandha, Prana Samhita, Muktitattva, Yadavadhyatama, Linganirnaya, Mahodadhi, Vicara, Viparita Sruti, Visvambhara Sruti, Vimala Samhita, Vaibhavya, Vaisesya, Visva Tantra, Lokatattva, Vayuprokta, Vallabhya, Boddhavya, Pravrtta Samhita, Pavamaniya Vijaya, Pautrayana Sruti, Purusottama Tantra, Vimarda Sruti, Sumata, Sadgunya, Pippalada Sruti, Kathaka Sruti, Paingini Sruti, and Sauparna Sruti to name some. It may be argued that in the time of Madhvacharya the sources of his scriptural references were never disputed by his opponents.
Similarly we may use the same line of reasoning — that at the time when our acaryas quoted from books and verses to establish Mahaprabhu’s divinity, no anti-party came forward to deny the authenticity of these quotes and their origin.
Sri Madhvacarya also quotes scriptural verses that cannot be found. Two instances of this are found in his Visnu Tattva Vinirnaya, wherein he quotes the following from Skanda Purana —
ajnanam jnanado visnuh
jnaninam moksadas ca sah
anandadas ca muktanam
sa aiveko janardanah
"The Supreme Lord Janardana gives knowledge to the ignorant, liberation to the enlightened and bliss to the liberated."
And from the Padma Purana —
nrpadya satavrtyanta
muktiga uttarottaram
gunaih sarvaih sataguna
modanta iti hi srutih
"From Manusyottama upto Brahma, all enjoy the bliss multiplied by hundred in an ascending order, thus the sruti declares."
Neither of these slokas are to be found in the said books! The same peculiarity is found in other works of his such as his Gita Bhasya, Mahabaharata Tatparya and Bhagavata Tatparya. Should we then assume that Sri Madhvacharya has quoted fictitious verses? Bear in mind that printing came sometime after Mahaprabhu, books were written on very degradable materials, the Muslims destroyed many libraries and the British also were not sympathetic to Vedic literatures. According to the full body of Vedic texts listed by Srila Vyasadeva, only 6% is currently available. That is why we rely on guru parampara and put our trust in our Acharyas. I do not believe the fanciful stories of Ramkrishna, Sai Baba or Kripalu, but their followers do. Our good fortune is that we have Acharyas we can trust implicitly and need not check and recheck everything they say or quote. That is one of the qualities of a worthy disciple. It leads to havoc if the teacher is bogus, but when the teachers are of the quality of the six Goswamis and other associates of Mahaprabhu, Visvanath Chakravarti Thakur, Baladev Vidyabhusan, Bhaktivinode Thakur, his son, and Srila Prabhupada we can ourselves be confident, even if others choose to doubt.
Aman: Omg! I never knew about this. Thankyou so much, but, why didn't krishna save those verses to fade away by time?
Devotee: remember yesterday's conversation? Hidden avatara?
Aman: oh yes yes, sorry for being forgetful.
Devotee: No problem Prabhu.
Aman: I accept Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to be none else than Lord sri Krishna without any doubt. My intellect is able to grasp it due to the mercy of the Lord.
Devotee: Jaya Nitai Gauranga! All Glories To Srila Prabhupada!
Aman: Jaya jaya jaya!
